This short video is a non-verbal meditation upon the symbol of Sri Aurobindo, following the trails of iconic language from the past. The symbol is a world in itself. The more you dwell in it, the more it reveals; it is at once a symbol and a dynamic power in action. It is not enough for the symbol to be understood intellectually—it must be lived, brought into one’s life and physical movements.

The film depicts the play of duality within oneness, beginning with ascending and descending triangles, moving into the dynamics of their interaction, and culminating in the birth of the earth as a wave-particle at their intersection within the ocean of nāda, rippling out from the nādabindu, which is also the sun centre. This wave-particle and nādabindu are simultaneously the yoni encircling the lingam and the interplay of yin and yang from Chinese symbolism. The dramas of life—the games we play—are but cosmic symbols and forces at work.

Behind the multitude lie the two original principles: Purusha and Prakriti, Being and Becoming, Awareness and Force, Soul and Nature, Spirit and Matter—each seeking perfect union as ardhanārishwara, whose heart is the ascending flame that calls down the descending powers, unfolding into the flowering of the Sri Chakra in the dance of Nataraja, the Lord of the Dance, and leading to the measure of man as envisioned by Leonardo da Vinci.
